Software Updates

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please install the latest Microsoft Updates before running the CMS Full Version Installs, CMS patches, or CMS Service Packs. You will need to choose the Custom option for the MS updates to get the critical and optional updates. Full Version Installs are virtual downloadable versions of the installation CDs. The Full Version Installs must be used when upgrading from an older version to the current. For example, if you have CMS Professional 2009 installed and you want to upgrade to CMS Professional 2010 SP1, you must use the Full Version Installs. You can use the Full Version Installs to upgrade an existing version, for example, CMS Professional 2010 to CMS Professional 2010 SP1, but the Full Version Install files are much larger and may take longer to download. Instead when upgrading an existing version, use the Service Pack installs listed below.

Service Packs are version updates to an existing version. Updates contain corrections within a version line, for example, 11.1 is an update within the 11.x product line. Service Packs are application specific. In other words, service packs are only available for Point of Sale, Accounting, Fund, and applications sold as Add-ons such as Payroll, Bank Reconciliation or Fund Revenue Center. Service Packs contain corrections for all modules found within each application. In the Point of Sale Back Office Accounting Service Pack, corrections for General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Inventory and Point of Sale are available. Service Packs will only upgrade versions within a product line such as 11.0 to 11.1 and are characterized by their naming convention format NNSP###.EXE, for example, PSSP111.EXE is a service pack for Point of Sale or Point of Sale Back Office for Version 11.1. All service packs can include corrections to reports.
